Thursday Pre-Social Hike: Old Mill - Drake Park Loop

A pre-social hike along the Deschutes River on Thursday September 10 prior to the CONC Social at Goodlife Brewing on Century Drive.

We will meet at the Bend Parks and Rec Pavilion/Park & Float Parking lot. From there we will head to McKay & Whitewater Parks, then walk up stream to the Old Mill District and cross the river. After crossing we will follow the trail down stream to Miller's Landing Park.  From there we will follow city streets to Drake Park.  After passing through Drake Park, we will cross the Deschutes River on the Greenwood Ave bridge.  After crossing we will head south up river passing through Brooks Park then follow Columbia St. passing through Harmon Park and the Mt. Bachelor Park and Ride before arriving back at the Pavilion Parking lot.

Distance:  ~4 miles. Expect to be back in time for the social hour at Good Life Brewing on Century Drive at 4:30 PM.

Elevation gain/loss: mostly flat

What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals).  Bring/wear sun protection clothing and sun screen. Bring/wear bug protection clothing and bug spray.  

Wear comfortable walking shoes and weather appropriate clothing plus sun screen for an anticipated sunny afternoon and subsequent happy hour.

Dogs are not allowed on this hike.

Difficulty level: Easy

Number of hikers: 12 hikers including the hike leader. Registration is required. 

Carpooling: No carpooling necessary.  We hike from the meeting place.
