Ski Trail maintenance - Maxwell sno-park - ONC Williamette Chapter
The Williamette Chapter of the Oregon Nordic Club will be conducting a ski trail maintenance work party on Saturday August 22, 2206 at the Maxell Sno-Park west of Santiam Pass along Route 22 just west of the Santiam Junction.
Here details for the event supplied by the Williamette Chapter of the ONC:
Trail work for Maxwell sno-park August 22. Meet at the sno-park at 9:30. Tasks we will do will depend on turnout so bring typical trail work tools like loppers, pole saws, handsaws, and PPE for associated work. Wear sturdy boots, long pants, long sleeve shirt, gloves, and protection for weather conditions. Bring your lunch, snacks, and drinks. The trails always need some brushing, sapling removal, and limb removal for diamond visibility or new diamonds but we may split into smaller groups to just cover as many trails as possible to note the down trees that need a chainsaw and report on other general conditions for future work efforts. Contact Jim Todd, 503-378-7003 or Bob Young, 603-621-6626 if you can join us.
NOTE: ONC Williamette Chapter has volunteer agreements with Willamette and Deschutes National Forests and we work closely with Cascade Volunteers. It would help us maintain records of our volunteer hours and comply with this agreement if volunteers would register with Cascade Volunteer at http://cascadevols.org/volunteers/. Anyone interested in joining us should contact me directly for details.
Carpooling: Carpooling from Pets Mart Bend (8:00 AM) or Village Green Sisters(8:30 AM). Contact Charlie Cornish, 206-391-4352, if interested.
