This is a nice ramble along a peaceful section of the beautiful Metolius River. We will start at the Fish Hatchery then hike downstream to Bridge 99 where we'll cross over to the other side of the river and complete our loop back to the hatchery. Smoky air may cancel trip. Stay tuned for communications from the leader.
Distance: 6 miles. This trip will take approximately 5-6 hours including drive time.
Elevation gain/loss: 200 feet of gain.
What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Difficulty level: Easy
Number of hikers: 10 max including hike leader.
Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund.
Meeting place: The Grove in NW Crossing: 921 NW Mount Washington Drive, Bend. We'll grab a table in the general seating area, near Thump. Come early to grab a coffee and chat with others before we arrange carpools. Be prepared to leave by 8:00 am sharp!
