I am hoping that this is the first of regular Wednesday trail work summer sessions. Some weeks we’ll do surveys to see what work is needed; other weeks we’ll be hanging markers or signs, doing brushing and limbing, and doing minor log clearing.
There is commercial logging going on presently near Nordeen, Swede Ridge and Vista Butte - so that may limit what we can do on trails in those areas until fall.
This week we’ll keep it relatively short and easy - we’ll be updating markers and doing some brushing on the lower part of Flagline Access. We’ll be carrying an extension ladder, pole saws, markers and loppers. If the day is hot we’ll quit by early afternoon.
What to bring: Please ensure you have the following required PPE: - Long pants and long-sleeved shirts - Boots - Work gloves
- Eye protection
- Hard hats (Please let me know if you need one provided for you)
Bring a pack that’s large enough to carry extra tools and supplies.
Carpooling: Meet at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Center at 8:00 AM to sort out carpooling.
