Come spend Easter Sunday hiking with CONC. We will start from the Skull Hollow parking area and head up to the Gray Butte saddle via the Cole Loop Trail. If conditions are good, then we'll proceed another 1.5 miles on the Gray Butte Trail towards Smith Rock State Park to a nice location to sit and enjoy a snack. We will return via the same route.
Distance: 5 - 8 miles RT. Plan on spending 6-7 hours including drive time to/from the trailhead.
Elevation gain/loss: 800 feet gain
What to bring: Ten essentials, water, snack/lunch, and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Dogs are not allowed on this hike.
Difficulty level: Moderate
Number of hikers: 10 max including hike leader.
Carpooling: Carpooling can be arranged at the meeting place. If you ride with someone, please donate to their gas fund.
Meeting place: The Grove in NW Crossing: 921 NW Mount Washington Drive, Bend. We'll grab a table in the general seating area, near Thump. Come early to grab a coffee and chat with others before we arrange carpools. Be prepared to leave by 9:00 am sharp!
