Didn't make the cut for Wednesday's Big Meadow ski tour?  Weren't fast enough with a reply to get on the list?  Stuck on.the waitlist?

Fear not -- here's a second chance for a Big Meadow tour on Thursday.

As of this posting on Sunday evening, Thursday's forecast calls for 20 percent chance of snow, mostly sunny, with a high near 41 after an overnight temperature of 23, leading up to a potentially great day of ski touring,

See tour details below, plagiarized from Laura's description for Wednesday's tour. Thanks Laura.

Trail Highlights:  This will be an advanced intermediate tour. It's a bit too soon to know if conditions will match the plan.  Ideal conditions would have us start at the MtB Nordic Center and ski Water Tower to Todd Ridge.  Once we've climbed up the Todd Ridge Trail, there are some fun options to extend the tour off trail before returning the Big Meadow Trail back down to the MtB Nordic Center.  The plan will adapt for the conditions, though, so we will need to be flexible.  It will depend on the rain/snow ratio on Monday and Tuesday.  We'll find something fun to do, I'm sure, if we have to adapt the plan

Level of Difficulty and Distance/Time expected: Advanced intermediate level tour, 7 to 9 miles with up to 750 feet of elevation gain.  Probably 4.5 hours of ski time. Along with the climbing and descending, there's likely to be a bunch of trail breaking.  Skiers should be confident climbing and descending and with off-trail travel and sufficient stamina for the day.

Meeting Place/Time:  We will meet at The Grove by 9:00 (inside the Grove Hall in front of Thump Coffee).  After signing the Liability release form, we will arrange carpools and leave by 9:15 to drive to the Mt Bachelor Nordic Center
