We are continuing our efforts to improve markers and marker visibility. This week the work will be on the Dutchman Loop and part of the Todd Lake Trail in the Dutchman trail system.
We’ll bring a pole saw or two, hand saws, markers, and a drill in case the trees needing markers are too frozen to pound nails.
Please look for updates to the plan based on weather. The actual destination for trail work might change based on wind and snow conditions.
This is an intermediate ski, approximately 3 miles total distance to be covered. All the trails we’ll be on are ungroomed. Snow is predicted for Wednesday, with a high in the low 30s.
What to bring: Winter Ten essentials, Extra gloves (since they’re likely to get wet), water, snack/lunch. Hard hats are required for this work; let me know if you need one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: We’ll meet in the parking lot at Bend Parks and Rec at 9:30 AM to sort out carpooling. Let me know if you plan to meet us at the Nordic Center instead.
