Well, the smoke caused us to postpone the work we planned for last week. Smoke may still be an issue this week, so this plan is tentative.
We have new blue junction signs ready to put up at Edison. We’ll plan to work on three of them, along with updating markers as needed along the loop. The total distance to be covered is about 2.5 miles with minor elevation gain/loss, so it should be a relatively easy day. Much of this has been walked recently so I would expect few if any blowdown to be cut. There will be some limbing and brushing but that also should be minor.
Weather is expected to be rainy on Wednesday (I hope they’re right !) so we’ll plan on Tuesday for the work. The temperature should be in the low 70s. If it’s smoky we’ll postpone the work until Friday, and I’ll make the call about that Tuesday morning.
What to bring: gloves, long sleeved shirt, eye protection, water, snack/lunch and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Hard hats are required and can be provided if you don’t have one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.
Carpooling: We’ll meet at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Center for carpooling.
