It’s warm out there! In consideration of the heat, we’ll do a survey of a few of the higher elevation trails in the Dutchman trail system. For this work we’ll bring hand saws and a pole saw or two to improve marker visibility, and we’ll locate any blowdown that will need the attention of sawyers. We won’t be hauling ladders or hanging markers on this trip.

If we get six folks we’ll break into two teams and do two different trail loops. The ones I have in mind would be the Flagline Access/Big Meadow loop and the Todd Lake/Water Tower loop.

Weather is expected to be sunny with a high around 80, so we’ll figure on getting an early start and plan to be done by a bit after noon.

What to bring: gloves, long sleeved shirt, eye protection, water, snack/lunch and proper footwear (no tennis shoes or sandals). Hard hats are required and can be provided if you don’t have one. Bring a hand saw if you have one.

Carpooling: We’ll meet at the Cascade Lakes Welcome Center for carpooling to the Common Corridor crossing.
